What it is and what it isn't
The portal stores and makes PEC messages centrally retrievable, keeping the original EML file, but it is not an AgID-compliant digital retention system: if anything it complements and feeds it, and it can be integrated with compliant retention systems. Furthermore it does not provide the certification: the PEC service itself is provided by AgID-accredited providers; the portal manages the inboxes, it does not issue certified email. The software is also already ready for the evolution toward European PEC (REM).

How much does it cost?
The price is on request: it depends on the option you choose and the number of companies and inboxes to manage. Request a quote and we'll size it together.
Where is the data held?
It depends on the option: with SaaS, on the provider's infrastructure (multi-tenant); with the managed VM, on a dedicated single-tenant instance; on-premise, in your own infrastructure.
Does it replace compliant retention?
No. The portal stores and makes PEC messages retrievable, keeping the original EML file, but it is not an AgID-compliant digital retention system: it complements one and can be integrated with a compliant retention system.
Is it a PEC provider?
No. The PEC service itself is provided by AgID-accredited providers; the portal manages the inboxes and centralises them, but it does not issue the certification.
How do you migrate from the current webmail?
The existing inboxes are connected without changing provider. We support you with the initial configuration, with no service interruption.
How many companies and inboxes can you manage?
There is no predefined limit: the platform is designed specifically for multi-company environments and is sized to your needs.
How do permissions work?
Through roles assigned to each person (ICT administrators, management, read/write or read-only users): everyone sees only the inboxes that concern them.
What happens when a PEC message arrives?
The inbox updates automatically and authorised users receive an email notification with a direct link to the message.
What security does it offer?
Multi-factor authentication, roles and permissions, audit log, encryption, backup (in the managed models), antivirus on incoming messages and flagging of possible spam.
Is it ready for European PEC (REM)?
Yes: it is designed to accompany the evolution toward European PEC, without introducing obligations that are not yet in force.
Who manages updates and maintenance?
In the SaaS and managed VM models ALAconnect takes care of it (backup, updates, monitoring). On-premise, these are the client's responsibility, with optional support.
